Breast Surgery Procedures

Every procedure begins with a personal assessment rather than a pre-set package. Dr. Sangmun Choi discusses the patient’s anatomy, prior history, preferences, and the role of a tissue-preserving approach before recommending a plan.

Motiva Preservé Breast Augmentation

Tissue-preserving, subfascial planning

01

Preservé is a tissue-preserving approach to breast augmentation. In an appropriate candidate, the implant may be planned in a subfascial plane so the patient’s existing breast structures and chest muscle function are considered throughout the operation. The objective is not to apply one shape to every patient, but to build a surgical plan around anatomy, tissue characteristics, and the patient’s goals.

  • Anatomy-led planning
  • Motiva implant selection
  • Considered tissue planes
  • Individual recovery guidance

Breast Lift and Ptosis Correction

Shape, position, and volume assessed together

02

A lift procedure may be discussed when breast position, skin envelope, or nipple position is as important as volume. Some patients consider a lift with implants, while others may be better suited to a different approach. The consultation focuses on what can be addressed through surgery, the trade-offs associated with incisions and scars, and the need to keep expectations grounded in individual anatomy.

  • Assessment of breast position
  • Implant-plus-lift discussion
  • Scar-care planning
  • Individualized surgical strategy

Breast Revision Surgery

A careful review of prior surgery and current concerns

03

Revision consultation begins by understanding the original procedure, the patient’s present symptoms or aesthetic concerns, and the existing implant and tissue environment. Concerns may include shape, asymmetry, implant position, or capsular contracture. Revision surgery is not a standardized operation; the plan is developed only after examination and discussion of the available records, risks, and practical goals.

  • Review of prior surgery
  • Assessment of implant position
  • Consideration of tissue quality
  • Follow-up plan after revision

Hybrid Augmentation and Fat Transfer

An option considered within a broader treatment plan

04

Autologous fat transfer may be considered on its own or as part of a hybrid plan with implants when contour, soft-tissue coverage, or volume distribution are part of the discussion. Suitability depends on available donor tissue, breast anatomy, and the patient’s aims. It is discussed as one tool in a wider plan rather than as a replacement for careful measurement and clinical judgment.

  • Autologous-tissue discussion
  • Contour and coverage goals
  • Hybrid planning when suitable
  • Personalized follow-up

For international patients

Confirmed international procedure prices

Confirmed English platform listings in KRW. They are provided for planning and are not a guarantee of an individual surgical plan.

Listed inclusions: Both platform listings state that VAT, anesthetic fees, and aftercare fees are included.

Preservé uses a single-use balloon dissector that cannot be reused, adding to the procedure cost. The difference in the listed procedure prices should not be interpreted as the price of this device alone. The appropriate surgical approach is determined after an individual assessment.

These are distinct listed procedures: Standard Motiva breast augmentation should not be read as a Preservé price. Your individual quotation confirms the included scope and any additional procedure. For items not listed here, including medication or compression garments, the final quotation will state whether they are included or separate.

The consultation process

From Measurement to a Considered Plan

A consultation is designed to make the decision process more concrete. It may include examination, measurements, a discussion of medical history, and, when appropriate, Crisalix 3D simulation. Simulation supports conversation about proportion and implant choice; it does not predict or guarantee an exact surgical outcome.

  1. 1. Anatomy and Goals

Breast width, tissue characteristics, symmetry, skin envelope, and personal priorities all inform which options are realistic to discuss.

  2. 2. Technique and Trade-offs

The discussion explains possible surgical planes, incision considerations, implant choices, expected monitoring, and known risks.

  3. 3. Recovery and Follow-up

Patients receive a practical aftercare plan that can include clinical review, ultrasound follow-up when indicated, and scar-care support.

Motiva Preservé

Why Tissue Preservation Is Part of the Conversation

Preservé is discussed as an approach that seeks to work with the breast’s native structures. In suitable cases, subfascial planning may be considered to preserve chest muscle function while creating an implant pocket. The final surgical approach remains a clinical decision made after assessment, not a label that replaces patient-specific planning.

Ryan Plastic Surgery has experience with more than 3,000 Motiva-registered augmentations. Dr. Choi’s recognition as Motiva Global KOL in 2024 and 2025, and his role as Motiva Asia-Pacific Instructor in 2026 reflect ongoing engagement with the technique, but no procedure can eliminate risk or produce the same result for every patient.

Safety and accountability

The Surgical Setting Matters

A procedure is performed in an environment with a board-certified anesthesiologist present and operating-room CCTV. Dr. Choi’s single-surgeon model means the doctor who develops the plan is the doctor responsible for the operation and postoperative care.

For patients travelling to Seoul, the clinic also discusses the practical elements of recovery, early review, and communication after returning home. Patients should allow adequate time for medical assessment and follow the treating surgeon’s instructions regarding travel, activity, and follow-up.

Implant discussion

Motiva and Other Implant Discussions: Questions Before a Decision

A comparison should clarify what manufacturers publish rather than rank implants or predict an outcome. Motiva describes SmoothSilk/SilkSurface and BluSeal in its patient implant overview. Other implant manufacturers publish their own device labeling, indications, warnings, and warranty terms. The treating surgeon should explain why a particular option is being considered for the patient’s anatomy and surgical plan.

Discussion pointMotiva informationOther implant informationPatient-specific question
Surface and designReview the manufacturer’s description of SmoothSilk/SilkSurface and BluSeal.Review the manufacturer’s labeling for the product being considered. How do the available dimensions and design relate to my tissue characteristics and goals?
Risk discussionProduct information should be read with independent safety guidance. The same informed-consent discussion applies to any implant choice. What risks, limitations, and follow-up needs are relevant in my case?
WarrantyReview the current Motiva warranty terms.Review the specific manufacturer’s terms and regional eligibility. What documentation is required, and what does a device warranty not cover?

The FDA’s breast-implant safety guidance describes known risks and the possibility that additional procedures may be needed. This context is relevant regardless of a product name or technique.

Which Procedure Is Appropriate for You?

A personal consultation is the appropriate setting to discuss suitability, limitations, risks, and an individualized recovery plan.

All surgical procedures carry risks. Temporary pain, swelling, bruising and bleeding may occur, and infection or inflammatory reactions may occur in rare cases depending on individual health status. Results, recovery time and scar appearance vary by individual. Please follow your surgeon’s instructions before and after treatment and decide only after a full consultation.
